Ken and I were up at 6:20 and did a few more things for leaving Hershey. We had a quick cereal breakfast and by 7:30 we were ready to leave our site. We had planned to head out at 8, but Chuck and Melissa were ahead of schedule too, so by 8 we had the cars in tow and were leaving the CG.
Ken and I debated on the route for our trip and decided to go to Route 743 and then onto 283 to get to Gap. It was a few extra miles, but much better and faster roads. All went well except for a short detour that was forced upon us and caused Ken and I some "uneasy" moments. But we arrived at Sea Pines by 12:20 and Fred and Doloris were there to welcome us. They had actually gotten here around 8:00 PM last evening.
They had set-up in an area where there were available sites for our motorhomes. Set-up went well and when we were all finished, the 6 of us met at Martins and ate lunch on their picnic table.
After lunch, Chuck and Melissa drove to a tire shop to have a screw removed from one of their CRV's tires. Unfortunately, it required a new tire. Ken decided to take a nap and I did dishes and worked on my blog. We decided to meet and take a walk around the CG. We had to go to the office to turn in our site # and that meant we were close to their mini golf course. It is one of my favorite courses and I felt like we had to try it. So we had a competition of men vs. women and the women were victorious! Yes! What a way to start a week of games (not like we count the wins or anything!!!) After walking around the CG it was time to think about dinner. We all met around 6:15 to eat together, each of us making our own dinner.
After clean-up, they joined us in Waldo for some game playing. 1st it was Skip-Bo and then Up the River. Women won both - we are on a roll!!!! We had such a good time and laughed a lot. We got to bed around 11 and we were tired. This is going to be a fun week in Avalon!
