Ken had a rather restless night and ended up sleeping on the couch. I got up at 6:45 and showered and was already except for drying my hair when Ken got up. We had decided last night that we would not be in a hurry to leave today because of the predicted rain from Hurricane Nate!
After loading a few last minute items, we drove to a local Burger King for breakfast. Upon our return, I followed Ken in the CRV to around the corner where we usually hook-up the car but there was so much water in the gutter that we couldn't stop there. So, we went a little farther to a parking lot of a trucking company and hooked it up there. It was pouring and Ken got soaked. While we were in the process, Ken's brother, Paul, drove by and pulled in when he recognized Wilbur. The 3 of us went inside Wilbur and ended up chatting for about 1 1/4 hours. What a nice visit! By then the rain had really slowed down and we headed on our way.
We did have some heavy rain on and off during our 3 1/2 hour drive, but it went well! The amazing thing - when we got here the CRV started right away - Yes! We had it in the tow mode for 4 1/2 hours and it still started. I guess the new battery was what it needed to work properly and thanks to Rick, the by-pass switch is doing its thing!!!
It was raining lightly when we arrived and actually stopped when we set-up! We got a nice, fairly level, wooded site and by 2:30 we were ready to think about lunch. After eating I played on the I-Pad and Ken took a very short nap. By then the sun was actually shining and we went for a walk around the CG. It was about time to get some exercise again. It went okay but my back wasn't extremely happy!
We sauteed chicken, peppers and onions and put it on our salads. They were delicious. We both showered and then enjoyed watching The Voice. I was planning to work on some sea glass pictures but I just couldn't get motivated to start. As Ken said, it is only our 1st night here so relax and start the crafting "later"! So, I listened and responded to some e-mails and worked on this blog.
Tomorrow looks like a great weather day but they are predicting somewhat of a wash-out on Wednesday. Maybe that will be a crafting day! We shall see!!!
I will post some pictures tomorrow!
