Ken and I were on our way to Edgewater Church by 9:00. We had fun talking with folks and drinking tea and coffee before the service. Again, it was an inspiration service.
Usually we go to Denny's for breakfast, but we decided to go right back to the CG and make breakfast. We did stop by Ernie and Noela's to chat and talk about possible plans for Monday. Of course we took time to have a cup of coffee and tea.
After making breakfast and doing some clean up, Ken and I worked together to make a double batch of oat bran muffins. I hardly had a large enough bowl to mix the batter and we ended up with lots of dishes. Ken was such a sport to help so much! We also cut up cheese to take to take to Church this evening for game night, playing Hand and Foot. We thought it would be a great way to meet more people that attend that Church.
By the time we finished, the Steelers game was on. What a rather frustrating game! We had to leave for Church at 3:30, so we didn't get to see the end, but we did keep checking for game updates on our phones. So disappointing!
There were 26 of us at Church from about 4 to 9 playing Hand and Foot - 3 tables of 6 and 2 tables of 4. Ken and I learned their rules (not that different from ours) and had a fun time playing and meeting new folks. The people were very welcoming. At 6 we stopped to have dinner, after eating snacks while playing. One of the ladies had brought lasagna for everyone and it was delicious. Ken and I really did have a good time and plan to join them the 2nd Sunday of February and March.
When we returned, we went right to bed to do some reading! Another fun day in Florida!
