We woke to the 6:30 alarm and got ready to leave Timothy Lake South CG and head back to Hershey Preserve. It was cloudy and cool, but fortunately it wasn't raining. That started after we were down the road. The 4 of us left the CG at 7:50 a bit ahead of our 8:00 scheduled departure time. Chuck and Ken keep trying to beat each other getting ready when we are leaving a CG.

Today's drive was uneventful and that is the way we like it! We did see some exceptionally beautiful leaves on the drive.
We had all major highways and except for stopping for gas, we kept "trucking" arriving at the Hershey CG around 11. It felt like being home, because the 4 of us met here on September 13, traveled together ever since, and now arriving back to almost the same 2 campsites we were on when we met. We have covered a little over 1,000 miles in that time and had so many wonderful adventures and seen incredible places, not to mention the colorful leaves.
Ken and I set-up quickly, had lunch, and then drove to our apartment in Lititz to unload all the things we do not want to take with us when we head south. We also brought home our laundry. Once unloaded, we headed to Ephrata to go to Hoover's Roadside Market and then Wal-Mart for needed groceries. From there it was off to Costco in Lancaster for more groceries and a prescription refill for Ken.
We got back to the apartment at 3:45 and Ken went back to Hershey to unload the food items, since we had defrosted our refrigerator and turned it off when we left in Sept. I stayed at the apartment to start the laundry and record expenses in our budget - such fun!
Ken returned at 6:15 and brought salads we had made in Waldo and leftover pizza that we had for dinner. I finished the wash, folded it, and packed it to take back to Waldo. Ken spent the evening working at his desk. By 10 we both went to bed rather tired from a busy day!
