A Trip to the Pink Flamingo MarketPk

Ken and I were up at 7, did some devotions, and then got ready for the day. After a light breakfast we walked to the front of the campground to meet Barry and Deb at 9:00 AM.  It had rained during the night, but the showers had mostly passed by the time we had gotten up.  We had some sunshine today and it got to the upper 70's - a great weather day!

We drove about 20 minutes towards Bonita Springs to the Pink Flamingo Market.  They don't have much produce, but more clothing, accessories for phones and I-Pads, jewelry, sunglasses, purses, kitchen gadgets, souvenirs, food vendors, etc.  It is a fun place to just walk around.   Ken did buy a case for his phone and I-Pad and I got a silver chain that I bought buy the inch so I could get a 14" one.  The smallest standard size chain is 16" and that is too long to wear some of the seaglass and shell pendants I make.  We also talked to a very interesting lady from Ireland who makes gorgeous jewelry from seaglass that she finds in that area.  She was a real sweetheart.

The Pink Flamingo is a busy and interesting place!

Lots to see and most things are reasonably priced!

This lady, with her Ireland accent, was
fascinating to talk to and her seaglass
jewelry was gorgeous!

Ken enjoyed watching this Cuban gentleman make cigars!

We left the market at noon and drove to a Sweet Tomato Salad Bar Restaurant in the Naples area.  Barry and Deb had never been to one and it is a favorite of Ken and me.  I think it will be a place where Barry and Deb will return while here in Florida.  They really enjoyed the delicious fresh salad bar, soups, and the sugar free chocolate mousse!  A good time was had by all!!!!

We were back to Waldo by 2:00 and Ken and I took a walk around the campground and a neighboring community.  Then he did some reading while I sat at the picnic table making jewelry.  It was a delightful afternoon to be outside.  Ken made us salads for dinner and a salmon burger for himself with sauteed onions and peppers.  I designed 10 pendants made from seaglass we had found and then worked on the blog.

After eating and cleaning up from dinner, we left at 6:40 to go to Barry and Deb's campground to play games.  The men won Sequence Dice and then we each won a game of Skip-Bo.  We were back to Waldo around 10 after a fun-filled day.

Playing Skip-Bo with Barry and Deb in their Airstream!
