I headed to the LR and "put their bed away" and did some clean-up and packing of their items for their return home today. I made them pancakes again and Ken and I worked together to make our egg and fruit breakfast. It was very warm already, but we ate outside. While we cleaned-up I gave them some ceramic animals to paint.
They enjoyed painting the ceramic animals - a fox and a raccoon! |
We left the CG at 9:45 and drove to Chocolate World to take their free tour ride. What fun! They changed the ride again this year and even the cars you ride in are different. Then we spent time in their shopping area checking out all the candy and novelties they sell. The girls decided on a stuffed bear that came with a small box of candy or Twizzlers.

Mr. Hershey knew what he was talking about! |
Happy cows provide the fresh milk that makes Hershey Chocolate so delicious! |
It is a fun and informative ride! |
From there we went to the new Cocoa Castle so they could check out the new playground. When we were there last summer they had a sign that it would be closed starting that Fall and a new playground would be installed. The old one was all wood, so this is an improvement but not nearly as large. It was so hot (already near 90) so we only stayed a short time.
They girls asked if we could go to McDonald's for lunch and we said that would be great. We watched them eat, deciding that we were not "up" for that kind of food.
Only back at the CG for about 1/2 hour before it was time to leave and meet their Mommy, Lanie, at Wal-Mart in Ephrata. We were there by 2 and they were happy to be reunited. Ken and I did some shopping at Wal-Mart and then stopped at home to water flowers and get the mail. We also had not turned on the air conditioning when we left(what were we thinking) and decided it was necessary with these very hot temperatures.
Back to the CG by 4 and Ken decided to take a nap. I spent time recording our expenses and ordering a bathing suit skirt from Amazon (that took a lot longer than I expected!). We worked together to make salads with sauteed onions, peppers, and chicken for dinner. So good!
After dinner, we changed and headed to the Pickleball Courts to play with John and his son, Dustin and his wife, Kathy. Dustin and Kathy had never played pickleball, but were tennis players. So they picked up the game rather quickly and did very well. We played for about 1 1/2 hours and had a great time.
Back to Wilbur around 9:00, showered, finished this blog, and went to bed to read. Need to get ready for the arrival of Bria and Cali tomorrow morning. We certainly had a fun time with Samantha and Katelyn!
