We left the CG a little after 8 and drove to LCBC about a 40 minute drive. Jamie's family was at the beach for a triathlon that Dane was doing today. (Just a side note - He placed 9th overall and 2nd in his age group. Way to go!) We sat with Rick and Joyce and Barb and Frank. We left rather quickly to meet Lanie and the girls at the Wal-Mart parking lot about 1/4 mile from the Church. Put their items in our car and headed towards the CG stopping to get gas, drinks, and of course, a donut.
When we got to Hershey Preserve, we unloaded the car, ate lunch outside, and by 1 were on our way to the pool. It was sunny and 90, so we thought we were ready for a swim. We spent some time with Neil and Nancy and their granddaughter, Olivia, when we 1st got there. The water was so cold, because it is mountain water and it is not heated. Of course, the little ones didn't mind it and they convinced PawPaw to get in the water. Grandma enjoyed watching from the edge! We did get ice cream in the middle of the afternoon only getting back to Wilbur around 4:30.
Time to walk to the pool! |
This is Miss Olivia! |
Grandma's favorite spot at the pool! |
Who is that gal in the orange goggles? Oh, it is Katelyn! |
Samantha loved her time at the pool! |
I made salads and mac and cheese while Ken grilled burgers. The girls enjoyed playing on our I-Pads while we were prepping and cooking. After eating outside and then cleaning up, Ken built a campfire and we played a game of marble while we waited for the coals to get "just right" for the roasting of our marshmallows to make s'mores.
Time to toast the marshmallows for our s'mores! |
I think Katelyn and Samantha enjoyed them! |
Messy, but so good! |
Grandma enjoyed the yummy treats too! |
After eating our yummy treats, I put on my SAS and we all went for a walk, stopping by Neil and Nancy's so the girls could meet their dog, Tatum! Then they spent time on the playground with PawPaw while I continued walking.
Tatum was happy to have visitors! |
Samantha and Katelyn loved playing with Tatum! |
When we got back to Wilbur, we all showered and then the girls watched the 1st period of the Stanley Cup with us - they are Penguins fans! By 10:15 lights were out, but the chatting continued. Ken and I watched more of the game in our BR, but the reception was not very good, so lights out by 11:15. A fun day with Samantha and Katelyn.
