There was still some rain during the night but it was done when we got up. We slowly got ready to leave for our drive to Cape Cod and by 8:15, we were leaving our campsite. We stopped at the entrance to hook-up the CRV and finally on our way by 8:45.
It was a good day for driving and an uneventful trip (the best!), only stopping one time to get gas. I used some of the driving time to talk to my mother and Lanie. Left a message for Jamie and I got to talk to her later today. We did stop at the Visitor Center when we got into Cape Cod, arriving at the CG about 1:00. It is not one of our favorite CG's (we were here about 7 years ago), but it is conveniently located on the center of Cape Cod, providing easy access to lots of different areas.
Set-up went well and the site is a nice large one. We got to meet our neighbors soon after we arrived and they have been full-timing for 5 years and spend the winter in Florida at Royal Coachman RV Resort near Venice, one of our favorites! We ate lunch around 2:30 and then decided to take a short nap. I must have been tired, because I slept (off and on) about 1 1/2 hours - wow! We had talked about taking a drive, but it was a bit too late, so we played 2 rounds of Hand and Foot, finishing 1 game, which I won, and starting another.
Ken grilled fish and chicken for dinner and we also had the salads we had made yesterday. After cleaning up, I did my devotions and worked on this blog. Ken did some reading also and then spent time planning activities to do while we are here. That can be a bit laborious!
There is no TV reception in this CG and cable is not available, so I guess we will be playing games in the evening and doing more reading. Not a bad thing! Sometimes the news really isn't worth watching anyway!
Tomorrow we hope to take a bike ride on the Rail Trail. It should be a nice day (YES!) and we know it is a great trail, having ridden part of it 7 years ago. It goes along some of the cranberry bogs which is interesting. I am sure we will keep busy till we leave here on Monday!
