Ken and Ernie did their morning walk, but Noela rested and I headed to the pickleball courts here in the CG at 8 (1st time this year that I went there in the morning) and played 2 games, returning to Wilbur at 9:00. I had a good time, but I really prefer playing at North Port with folks who speak English. The Canadians here are friendly, but it is very hard to communicate with them.
After breakfast, Ken went outside to clean the awning, and put everything away that we had hanging. He also scrubbed our new sunshade. I made the sauce for the bean dish I am making to take to the Food Pantry covered dish tomorrow, cleaned up and then went through our pantry and numerous drawers to re-organize things.
I talked to Joyce and Rick is started to show signs of improvement, but he is still not ready to socialize. We hope to get together sometime over the weekend. I worked on this blog while Ken rested. After lunch, we headed to Manasota Beach. It was a bit windy and off and on cloudy, but the sun came out "full force" on our way to the beach and the wind in that area was minimal. It really was an absolutely perfect weather day and the tide was bringing in shark's teeth with each wave - amazing!.
Just as we parked at the beach, Jamie called, so we stayed in the car and chatted for 40 minutes. It was a delightful talk and we so appreciated her call. We were on the beach from 3:15 to 5:15 and never sat in our chairs because the shark's teeth hunt was so productive. It really isn't about the "prize", but the hunt!!!!
We showered upon our return, heated up leftovers for dinner, cleaned up, and then went to Ernie and Noela's to play cards. The men were tired of losing at Hand and Foot so we played Skip-Bo which they lost anyway! Poor guys! It has been a rather tough winter of card playing for them! Noela served us some delicious chocolate cake and I tried her decaf, sugar free French vanilla coffee. I really enjoyed it and plan to purchase some for a drink to have in the evenings while the others drink regular coffee. My chai has too many calories and too much caffeine.
We were back to Wilbur by 9 and headed off to bed to read. What a great day!
