A Fantastic Day with Special Friends and Family!

Ken and I were up at 6:45, made a cooked breakfast, packed our lunches and Chuck and Melissa picked us up at 8:00 to head to Manasota Beach about 2 hours away!  We were so excited to spend this beautiful warm (84 degrees) and sunny day on the beach with Chuck, Melissa, Noela, Ernie, Cindy, and John.  What a special group!

It was a perfect beach day.  All of us enjoy looking for sharks teeth and I also looked for nice pieces of shells for my jewelry.  Ernie likes to walk, so John and him walked for 9,000 steps before we all took a break to eat our packed lunches.  Then Ken, Ernie, and Chuck went for a walk on the beach doing another 13,000 steps or 6 miles.  They found an area where they collected many sharks teeth and some pretty pieces of seaglass.  Melissa and I took a walk too and I picked up several pieces of shells.  We also did a lot of chatting.  Melissa and Chuck have 2 daughters about the age of Lanie and Jamie, and also 5 granddaughters under 4.  We have 4 granddaughters 7 and under, so we have so much in common to talk about. We walked about 8,500 steps.

Cindy's ankle stress fracture keeps her away from the water
most of the time.  John brings her shells in his Florida snow
shovel so she can sift through them looking for sharks teeth!
What a guy!

Chuck is busy with his Florida snow shovel!

A beautiful day on the beach!

Who is the gal under that big hat???

Relaxing together on the beach!

Lunchtime!

After the walk, there was more time for sharks tooth hunting and going in the water.   Noela and Ernie like being in the water and Ken joined them.  (Noela and Ernie actually do some swimming!). All of us left the beach around 5:30.  We hugged and said our good-byes to Cindy and John for none of us will probably see them again here in Florida.  They are staying in the Bradenton area which is a good distance from either of our campgrounds.  Manasota Beach was about an hour drive for them today, 35 minutes for Ernie and Noela, and 2 hours for us from Pine Island.  So, it was a good meeting point for all of us.  I was so glad we were able to make it happen!

Cindy carefully walked to the shoreline to enjoy the water on
her feet while looking for more sharks teeth!

Someone had a fun day doing sand sculptures!

Soon time to call it a day!  So glad John and Cindy
could join us!

Life on the beach is tough!!!!!

I am so happy to spend the day on the beach
and all these friends made it so special!

Cindy and John went back to their campground, but the 6 of us enjoyed a delicious dinner at one of my favorite places, Sonny's Barbeque near Port Charlotte!  Another fun time!  More hugs and good-byes but we do plan on seeing Noela and Ernie in Pine Island again before we leave for PA.

We were back to our CG by 8:15. I talked to Lanie and they had about 10 to 12 inches of snow today and this has been an interesting week.   School schedule was 2 hour delay on Monday, 2 hour early dismissal on Tuesday due to ice, no school on Wed. because of the ice, and no school today because of the snowfall!  They already have a 2 hour delay for tomorrow which may end up being a cancellation for the day.  Wow!  When I told her it was 84 degrees and sunny here the last 2 days she said I think it is time to hang up.  For us it was another wonderful day in Paradise.

What a perfect way to end the day - a full moon!
