A Special Day on Pine Island with Special Friends!

Ken and I were up at 7 and walked with Chuck and Melissa to the pickleball court at 8.  It was a beautiful sunny morning!  We all played well today and had a fun time!  Back to Waldo to change, pack lunches and to communicate with Lazydays regarding the work order.  Ernie and Noela drove from their CG at Port Charlotte to spend the day with the 4 of us here on Pine island.  The 6 of us met at the community park in the center of town and got on our bikes to ride to Bokeelia.  We made several stops along the way including the covered area where they grow star fruit.  Ernie picked up one off the ground and we all had a taste.  It was sweet but not real flavorful!  We stopped at the marina near the Lazy Flamingo and found a nice picnic table to enjoy our packed lunches.  It was past noon and Ernie was more than ready for his lunch!  He starts to become canabalistic  when it is past noon!

After lunch, we continue riding to the pier at Bokeelia where Ernie and Noela took off their shoes and enjoyed the water.  Chuck rest in the shade of a palm tree!  After riding about 18 miles, we all headed to the CG.  It was very hot, so the 6 of us went to the pool to cool off!  Back to Waldo to change and then drive to Low Key Tiki Hut for dinner.  They have the best chicken skewers and fish tacos at such a reasonable price and sitting along the canal isn't bad either!!

When we got back to the CG (around 6:30), Ernie and Noela headed out to return to their CG.  We showered and then Neil and Nancy stopped by for about a 1/2 hour just to chat. They left just as Chuck and Melissa arrived to play games.  We played till 10:15 and all of us were tired, so we called it another best day and all went to bed, each in our own motorhome.
