Everyone was up and functioning by 6:30 and on their way home by 7:30. Ken and I did one final check of the Condo, returned the keys, and stopped at WaWa at Rehobeth Beach for a breakfast sandwich and drink. On the way to Lititz from there by 8:20. Since 2009, our 1st family annual vacation and always at this particular Condo, we have never gotten off so early on Saturday morning or had such a relaxed Firday night. We all get "gold stars" for all the "planning and prepping" we did yesterday to make this happen and we didn't feel like it took much time away from all our activites and fun on Friday. Definitely the way to go!!!!
We made a couple stops on the way home arriving in Lititz by 11:30. We unloaded somethings, but left many items in the car to put directly into Waldo for our departure for the Little League World Series in Williamsport on Wednesday. We are so excited to meet up with our special camping friends, Chuck and Melissa, whom we haven't seen since we left Zion National Park. We will bring Waldo home tomorrow and then unload the remaining items that are in the CRV.
We unpacked everything, put it all away, and Ken took a nap. His back is feeling a little better, but he still has to move slowly and be extremely careful. Putting on his shoes (bending over) is defintely a problem.
Ginny, the nice lady who lives on the 1st floor, gave me our mail that she so graciously took in everyday while we were away. I had fun opening all the wonderful birthday cards that came while we were on vacation. My birthday just keeps going on and on!
I spent time downloading photos and working on my blog and when Ken got up, we went for a 2 mile walk. It was such a beautiful day! When we got back, Doloris had sent us a message that said, "We are going to play ladder golf in our backyard this evening and you are welcome to join us." So, I called to let her know that we would be thrilled to visit and play games.
Jamie lives around the corner from Doloris and Fred, so we stopped there to drop off a large block of cheese we had left from the beach and their large cooler. Sue and Dan and their friends Dan and Jen were there and we visited with all of them for about 1/2 hour. Then on to Fred and Doloris' house where we had a fun evening playing games (the women won all of them) and just
"catching up" on life. We were home by 10:30, tired, and ready for bed!
These few days at home are going to go by so quickly.
