After a pancake breakfast for the girls, we ate and I cleaned up. We called Chuck and Melissa to wish them a belated Happy Anniversary since we missed calling on Thursday. Where do the days go. All four of us are excited to get see each other and travel together starting in 2 1/2 weeks. Hallelujah!!!
Around 10, we left for Chocolate World, a tradition for the girls when we camp at Hershey. More people were there today then on Monday with Bria and Cali. But, it was still very manageable. Of course, we rode it 2X, bought cookies, and then they picked a large bag of licorice to take with us.
The girls always enjoy the ride at Chocolate World |
There's that licorice King Tut again but with 2 different little ones! |
This is our 2nd time on the ride! |
You have to love the Hershey Kiss and the 2 sweet ones under it's foot! |
We were back to Waldo by 12:30 and we walked to the stream so they could do some playing there and we could get some photos for their camping albums! By then it was lunchtime, so we had them eat outside while watching a short movie there.
The Canada geese got fairly close to Samantha and Katelyn! |
Every year they enjoy walking through the small stream! |
Our yearly pictures on the small covered bridge in the campground! |
After lunch the girls were coming in to change to go to the pool, when Katelyn closed the screen door on her thumb. That caused some excitement!!! Her thumbnail immediately turned purple, so we knew it had to really hurt. We put a Barbie bandaid on the booboo which helped, but she didn't want to go to the pool. She wanted to take a nap. So, I stayed back and Ken took Samantha to the pool. PaPa is a much better "player" in the pool than Grandma, but I thought he should stay back and take a nap with Katelyn. Sam really want him to go, since she knows who will provide more fun in the water. I gave me time to download photos and start working on today's blog.
Sam and Ken were at the pool for 2 hours (what a PaPa) and Katelyn napped the whole time. Both girls got showers and then they sat outside watching a movie while Ken showered and I started getting supper prepped. Ken decided to try to use a hatchet to split some smaller firewood, but he soon discovered that his back went into a spasm when he did any kind of bending. He could hardly straighten up. What is going on???
Ken grilled chicken and we had salads, leftover corn and mac and cheese, again!!! We ate outside and after I did the dishes we started the campfire so we could have s'mores. The girls thought it took forever for the fire to be ready for marshmallow toasting! They did enjoy watching the geese that got fairly close to our campsite and relaxing in our reclining chair.
There are lots of Canada geese at this campground! |
Katelyn will probably be a photographer or maybe a model. She certainly loves to pose! |
PaPa, please take another picture! |
I love the shadows this time of day! |
PaPa and Grandma's kind of shirt - tie dyed with a peace symbol! Yea Sixties!!!! |
Not a very big fire (PaPa couldn't chop any more wood), but big enough for a couple s'mores! |
Yum!!! |
A big messy! |
Chocolate everywhere! |
Some "wrestling" before we call it a day! |
