We had a wonderful time sharing life with Chuck and Melissa! |
Ken and I were on our way to St. Augustine by 9, making several stops for drinks and bathroom breaks. We messaged with Joyce numerous times checking on how close we were to our destination of the World Golf Resort located about 20 minutes from downtown St. Augustine.

We met up with Rick and Joyce, friends who moved to Venice, FL permanently in July and who were and continue to be in our Life Group at LCBC. They have some time shares and invited us to join them here until Thursday. We were so happy to see them again and appreciated their invitation.
Our rooms were not ready when we arrived around noon, so we decided to walk around the resort and have a late lunch at The Caddy Shack and the food was delicious.

Joyce and I thought we should check out the heated pool! |
So happy to have time with Rick and Joyce! |
This is a beautiful resort but the shopping area was not successful. Only The Caddy Shack and a few offices occupy the area! |
You pay to try to tee off from the green area onto the island across the water! |

By the time we returned to the office, our rooms were ready and we "moved in". We have adjoining suites, each with a full kitchen, deck, washer and dryer, etc. - very nice.

Around 4, we drove to downtown St. Augustine and walked around the area checking out the very famous Christmas lights. They were amazing and there were so many buildings and trees that were illuminated. Quite a sight to see! Hope you enjoy the photos -
We stopped at a famous pizza shop and each couple shared a large piece of pizza. Then we went to Tedi's Ice Cream Shop that is renown for its very famous ice cream. Both places were exceptional.
Before leaving the downtown area we enjoyed seeing the moon over the water and with the palms in the foreground -
Back to the resort by 7:30 and we got together and played a game of double handed pinochle which was won by the women. Around 10:15 we decided to call it a day. I watched the Steelers game and had to stay tuned until the very end since they only won on a field goal in the last 3 seconds. Quite a game.
Today was another beautiful, warm sunny day and we certainly enjoyed our time here with Rick and Joyce.
