Ken and I were on our way to church by 8:15 and enjoyed having a hot drink in the cafe, chatting with Deb and Lloyd before the service started. We sat with Jamie and Dane!
The service was amazing and included a celebration of Scott Fetterolf's life, one of our ministers who died in his sleep on Tuesday at the young age of 53. It was such a shock to everyone. He was a phenomenal preacher and just an all around terrific guy. He will be greatly missed.
After church, Ken and I went to Wal-Mart to get a few items for my parents and then met Deb, Lloyd, and Marvin for lunch at Gus's, a local restaurant. We had a great lunch and a special time of fellowship!
From there we went right to Masonic Homes to spend the afternoon playing Pinochle with my parents. So good to see them again and they were so excited to play cards! It was a winning day for the women! Cindy a John stopped by about the time Ken and I were leaving. Their life group from church was caroling throughout Masonic Homes. It was good to see them again too!
Ken and I left there around 4:00 and went to the Manheim campus of LCBC for the formal Celebration Service to honor Scott Fetterolf. The music was incredible as well as the folks we spoke, including his son! The service was live on Facebook and was viewed by over 20,000 people and that doesn't include about 2,000 folks that attended the service. Amazing!
We were home at 7 after being away for 11 hours - long day! We watched the end of the exciting Steelers game, but I wasn't happy with the end result. I spent some time downloading photos from our camping trips with our granddaughters this summer to an external drive so I can start designing scrapbook pages for their camping albums!
To bed by 10:15 to do some reading. What a great weekend!
