Ken and I left at 8:10 to meet Sam and Kathy, special friends, at Olde Hickory Grill for breakfast. We have a lot of history from church, camping, and just overall sharing life! It was so good to spend 1 1/2 hours with them talking, reminiscing, and laughing about some of our many adventure that we have shared!
From there Ken and I went right to the Brethren Church here in Lititz to deliver for Meals on Wheels. We really enjoying doing this "service project" and all the recipients are so appreciative. It brings us joy meeting the people and brightening their day!
We picked up Polly around noon and she treated us to a great lunch at Salt and Pepper in Lancaster, a nice Italian type Pub. The food was very good and we so appreciated Polly's generosity. We always have such a fun time when we are with her. She is a special lady!
When we returned home I spent most of the afternoon and evening working on pages for the girls camping scrapbooks. Every time we take them on a camping adventure I document the experience with photos and verbiage describing our time together and I do it for all 4 of our granddaughters! So, each year we take them camping 2X's in the summer and I include both trips in their books. It takes time, but I enjoy doing it and the girls are appreciative. I hope it will have even more meaning as the years go by!
Ken went to CR in the evening and he was planning to receive his 2 year "chip", that celebrates no alcohol for 2 years. Unfortunately, they did not have a 2 year chip, so he will receive it when we return from Florida in the Spring. I am proud of him for such a great accomplishment!
