Ken and I were up by 6:30, showered, and packed for our departure today. I did my stretches and exercises before we went down for breakfast at 8:15.
It was another flax pancake breakfast and we have certainly enjoyed them. Deb added an extra amount of baking soda and it makes the pancakes have such a nice fluffy texture. That change kind of happened by mistake when Barry made them one morning for Deb and used the wrong measuring spoon. Hallelujah for mistakes!!! We had a great time chatting around the breakfast table and expressing our sincere appreciation for the wonderful hospitality!
By 10:30 we were on our way to the province of Quebec to spend time with Ernie and Noela. They live near the LaChute area which was about 300 miles, taking about 7 hours, including a couple bathroom stops and a Wendy's for a quick lunch. Most of the driving was on a major highway, but we enjoyed the last 50 miles or so in the countryside.
It was so wonderful to see Ernie and Noela again! We always have so much to talk about and just enjoy being together. We unloaded most of our "things", did more chatting, and then we enjoyed eating dinner on their outside patio. Ernie had grilled chicken and broccoli and we also had a nice fresh salad with all the fixins! It was a gorgeous evening to be outdoors.
We moved inside where we played 2 rounds of Hand and Foot with the women being in the lead. By then it was 10:15 and we were all rather tired, so we headed to bed. Tomorrow we plan to drive into Old Port Montreal which should be a lot of fun! Looking forward to a wonderful time with our good friends, Ernie and Noela!
