Can you believe that today was the 1st rain we have had since leaving PA almost 2 weeks ago? Amazing!!!
We left the campground and decided to bike ride to St. James City only about 3 miles away. But, we decided to take some of the side roads on the way, stopping at St. James Preserve and riding the St. Jude trail. Very beautiful and so natural. Then we headed towards St. James City. The clouds really took over, so we turned around and rode in the direction of the campground. Too late - it started to pour. We were drenched by the time we got back to Willie.
After lunch, Ken drove me to a new craft store in Ft. Myers, Hobby Lobby. We do not have them in PA, so I was excited to check it out!! It really is an incredible store. Ken knew I would probably spend about 2 hours in the store, and I emerged in about 1 3/4 hours. It was kind of him to be patient and allow me to enjoy myself.
On the way back I talked to Dennis Reddig. He and Gail drove to Florida and arrived last Saturday. His daughter, Laura and her 2 children flew in later that day. They are staying in a house near Lover's Key which is south of Ft. Myers Beach. Laura is flying back home on Saturday and Dennis and Gail are going to stay near Venice till the following Thursday or Friday. We will be moving to the Venice area next Tuesday, so we will are looking forward to spending some time with them.
It rained off and on most of the day. Tomorrow and Wed. are supposed to be near 83 and mostly sunny. We will be ready!!!!
