The girls did a great job because it really was only there 2nd or 3rd time playing. Lanie and the girls arrived about 45 minutes after we were on the court and came to get us, as per our request!
Back to the condo to help Lanie unload - no, she had already done that! So at least I could help her unpack and make the beds. The 4 cousins were so happy to see each other and spent time putting together a singing and dancing routine which we got to watch on the patio after lunch. So cute!
The girls were excited to go to the beach, so at 2:30 we headed to Delaware Seashore State Park, about 20 minutes from where we are staying. All of the girls love to dive through and swim over waves, but the waves were a bit forceful today. Katelyn, being only 7 and not as tall as the others, really needs an adult to be helping her go over the waves and because there were sand "ledges" when at the edge of the water, it was hard to keep your balance. We had a great time and girls loved every minute, but it was a lot of work for Ken and Lanie to watch after the girls. I was in for a while, but found the unevenness of the ocean bottom to be a "balance" challenge because of my crooked back. So, I limited my time in the water. We left the beach around 5:15 and headed back to the condo for much needed showers. The amount of pebbles and sand in our suits was crazy! We ate rotisserie chicken and fresh corn on the cob for dinner followed by ice cream for dessert. We played some Uno before Jamie and Dane arrived at 9:00. Their flight had been delayed about 1 hour.
Jamie had laundry to do and because they were still on "California time", she had the energy to do it. Lanie, Ken and I were tired from a busy day and after some chatting, we were in bed by 10:15. Jamie thought we were "party poopers"! We told her we will do better the rest of the week.
