Ken and I were up by 6:15 and after looking at the Accuweather (which is always right!!!) we decided we had better start loading Wilbur since it was supposed to start raining in about 45 minutes! As per usual, Ken did most of the loading while I organized things that had to go with us, especially the refrigerator. This time the weather report was accurate, because it started raining just about the time we finished.
We got ready to go to church, ate breakfast, and actually had some time to do our devotions. We were on our way to LCBC by 9:45, attending the later service today. We did chat with Jamie's family before they left and then enjoyed another inspiring church service.
We left there at noon and met Bob, Lanie, Samantha and Katelyn at the nearby Wal-Mart where we loaded the girls things for our camping adventure. We drove back to our house and finished loading a few last minute items. By 1:30 we were on our way to see Yogi Bear. We had hooked-up the CRV so the 4 of us were able to ride for the 1 hour drive in Wilbur. Registration went very smoothly and we were in our great site very quickly. It took about 1 1/2 hours to get completely set-up and the girls were patient.
It was a rather cloudy day with a few off and on showers, but we were able to go to the playground and the girls enjoyed play GaGa Ball, something I had never seen played before. Samantha had learned it when she was at camp earlier this summer.
PawPaw built a campfire which was a bit tough because of the wet twigs and ground. But, he accomplished the task and the girls made their own hot dogs and we also had corn on the cob. Ken and I had chicken, salad, and corn.
Ken volunteered to clean-up the mess we had made in the kitchen while I took the girls to candy bingo. He joined us after we had been there about 45 minutes. Unfortunately we did not win any of the games. When we returned to Wilbur it was 8:15 and we were all feeling a bit tired, especially Grandma and PawPaw. PawPaw had made up the girls bed before joining us at bingo - what a guy! We chatted awhile and talked about what we wanted to do tomorrow.
Lights were out by 9:15, but the girls really didn't quiet down until 10.
