Ken and I awoke around 5:20, got ready, hooked-up the CRV and were leaving the CG by 6:15 AM - wow!!!! It was in the low 60's when we left and kept getting warmer as we drove. It was sunny most of the drive except for a few drops of rain mid morning. Traffic was very cooperative too with the only slow down when we entered South Carolina where I-95 changes from 3 lanes to 2. It is always a bottle neck there until the traffic "regroups"!
Throughout our travels, we stopped at a few rest stops (1 at 9:30 where we ran the generator and had coffee, chai, and cereal), 1X for gas, and Wendy's for a mid afternoon lunch. We arrived at a Wal-Mart near Roanoke Rapids, which is Exit 173 in North Carolina, at 7:00 after traveling 630 miles. It was a good day and Ken did such a great job driving.
I didn't drive at all, but did make lots of phone calls to friends and family. We are excited to get back home sometime tomorrow and see all these folks. I did talk to Noela and they arrived back home in Canada around 4 today. They were disappointed to get a phone call from Harbor Lakes CG in Florida that they will not be able to have their same site next year (they have had it for 3 consecutive years) because they only booked it for 4 months and someone wants it as a permanent lot for their RV. Fortunately they were able to get a different site that should be fine, but not as good as the one they have enjoyed.
I worked on this blog, we both did devotions, and Ken got devotionals ready for the men he texts every morning. We both were tired, but feeling so blessed that everything went so well.
