The beautifully landscaped entrance to Club Naples only now we were saying good-bye! |
It is another beautiful, warm sunny day with temperatures to reach about 76 today! Not bad! Last year we had a small Super Bowl Party at Waldo, enjoying watching TV outside. There were about 4 other couples and we had such a good time. Who knows???? It might just happen again today! We should be at the CG by 9:30 and have the whole day for fun and meeting with friends!
We arrived at the Pine Island CG at 9:45 and no other rigs were waiting to check in - amazing! They have over 50 coming in today and the park will be full, so different than last year when there were many empty sites! We are near the back of the park and were set-up rather quickly. All went well!
As soon as we were set-up, we saw Bill and Donna from Pottsville whom we see here most years and usually at the Hershey RV Show. We talked for quite awhile and they enjoyed having a tour of Waldo. They are considering buying a different motorhome with additional slides! So good to see them again. Then we sat outside at our picnic table to have lunch. We were just about done eating when Marie and Larry pulled into a space very near us. Soon their friends from Stevens PA, Paul and Deb pulled in beside them. We have known both of these couples for numerous years too, meeting them here on Pine Island. We all talked for quite awhile, especially to Paul and Deb and they weren't even set-up yet!!!!!
We decided to take a walk and look for 5 other couples we know in the park. That little trip walking around the park lasted from 3 to 6, stopping to talk to 4 of the couples - Neil and Nancy from PA, Ron and Pat from Ontario and good friends of Barry and Deb, Ed and Sandy who have a park model in the CG and Coy and Betsy from VA, another couple we met here at Pine Island about 3 years ago. Paul and Regina weren't at their rig when we stopped by. I feel like this is a reunion. These next 2 weeks will be so much fun!
We got back to Waldo at 6:15 and Ken grilled the meat while I made salads and quinoa. We are staying indoors and watching the Super Bowl - just the 2 of us. I love being with other people, but I like watching the game and the commercials and it is easier to do that when there isn't a crowd! Ken and I both wanted the Seahawks to win, so what a disappointing finish! Why that play at that time???? Just didn't make sense, but what do I know???? Headed to bed right after the game.
Really looking forward to our 2 weeks here on Pine Island!
