Our Last Full Day on Pine Island!

Photo
A cool start but a beautiful day!

Ken and I were up at 6 to get ready to leave for the craft show at Fishers of Men Lutheran Church here on Pine Island. We dressed warmly, because it was only 43 degrees when we left Waldo at 7:15. Way tooooo cold for FL.  We were some of the 1st vendors there.  Others were probably waiting for it to get a bit warmer before setting up.  It didn't take us as long as we anticipated, for we decided not to put up the canopy.  We were outside but protected somewhat by the building.

We were set-up by 8:30 so Ken headed to the nearby gas station to get me some hot chocolate.  By then I was cold and so anxious for the sun to appear. Ken left for a walk to get his 10,000 steps.  The show started slowly, but I was very happy with my sales.  So much fun to see some of the same people year after year and especially nice when they are repeat customers! Fortunately the sun did appear and we got to the mid 60's, but it was a bit breezy.  I was glad for my 2 sweatshirts!

The show was only from 9 to 1, a perfect amount of time as far as I am concerned.  By 1:30 we were on our way to the Low Key Tiki Hut for a Valentine lunch along the water.  We had the same meals again - chicken on a skewer and fish tacos.  Delicious!!

Back to Waldo by 3 and Ken did a lot of work outside getting ready for tomorrow's departure from Pine Island.  I did the same inside.  We should be on our way to Venice fairly early tomorrow morning and we only have about a 1 1/2 hour drive.  Then we will have a week to spend with Fred and Doloris Martin from back home.

At 4:45 we took our drinks and cheese and crackers to Nancy and Neil's site to have Happy Hour around the campfire with them and Tom and Becky.  What a delightful time.  We are all from Lancaster County so we have a lot of friends and places to talk about!  We had some good snacks and Ken had his 1st taste of Stone Crab Claws.  He thought they were very similar to Maryland Blue Crabs!  We only got back to Waldo at 7:45 after stopping to say our goodbyes to Ron and Pat.  They are leaving Pine Island tomorrow also, and we probably won't cross paths again until next winter!  We have enjoyed getting to know them!

Nice campfire for a cool evening!  Great company!

Ken's new treat - stone crab claws!

I worked on this blog, we watched some TV and plan to head to bed around 9:30.  Our time on Pine Island has been wonderful.  There are so many fellow RVer's here that we enjoy sharing life with.  We are definitely Celebrating Life Daily!  And the fun will just go on and on and on!!!!
