Samantha and I got up at 7:30 and of course, she had no idea why Katelyn wasn't in bed with her. She could sleep through anything! Ken and I had such a good time chatting with her. We realize that Katelyn is such a "chatterbox" that Samantha rarely has a chance to talk. Katelyn never got out of bed until 8:45 which is amazing for her, because she is always such an early riser! It was nice to have a chance to just talk with Samantha!
The girls wanted another pancake breakfast, so that is what I made for them. Ken and I showered and got ready to go to Masonic Village. We had time for the 4 of us to play UNO before leaving at 11:30 for our extended family picnic to celebrate Mom and Dad's 70th wedding anniversary. We reserved a grove area on the grounds of Masonic Village and all members of the family were there (27) except Cindy's oldest granddaughter and her husband. John, Ken, Cindy and I provided the pizza for everyone and all the other family members brought a snack to share! Dad joined us via his electric wheelchair and Ken picked up my mother.

It was a fun afternoon for all. Mom and Dad were so grateful and surprised with the check we gave them with money that was given by each family. Ken, the photographer, did a great job of taking photos all day and before Mom and Dad left, we got everyone together for special family photos -
What an accomplishment to celebrate - 70th wedding anniversary! |

Everyone left by 4:30, but John, Cindy, Ken and I stayed and had a ladder golf tournament! Ken and I won the 1st, they won the second, and we won the championship game. What fun!
Ken and I were back home by 5:45, tired but very happy for such a successful gathering of family. We stopped at Wendy's for a Frosty on the way home (that was dinner and it cost us a whole $1.06!) and then showered and watched the news. Both of us were tired.
I worked on this blog and downloaded lots of photos Ken had taken. While working on it, we watched America Ninja Warrior! It was off to bed by 10 after a busy and special long weekend!
