We did get a pull thru site and were able to keep the CRV connected. We also have cable and WiFI, a surprise for this area! After getting set up, we took a walk around the CG and then Ken made salads for supper while I started this post.
When they built the main office here at the CG, they found all these arrowheads! |
The trees on the lake are very beautiful. with all the Spanish moss! |
I did talk to my mother today and she and dad are doing well. Dad is scheduled to have a cat scan next Thursday (1 day after his 91st birthday) to check on the condition of his throat. He had throat cancer many years ago and they are not sure if it returned or he just has a lot of scar tissue. We will know more after the cat scan.
I also talked to Melissa several times about making more reservations for our trip. We did make them today for Sequoia National Park, Zion, and Bryce. It is getting very exciting. I also talked to Gary and Leesa Palmer today, fellow campers we met at a Rally in Hershey in 2011. They full-time and are workcampers in Utah. They were able to give us some insight on campgrounds when we are at Zion and Bryce. It was good to talk to them and hopefully we will have a chance to get together on this trip.
Ken and I relaxed this evening and enjoyed watching a special with Diane Sawyer and Julie Andrews about the making of The Sound of Music. Can't believe Julie is 79 and the movie was made 50 years ago! Wow!
Realty is beginning to set in for Ken and I that our adventure out west is finally beginning. We have wanted to head west for such a long time and it is happening. We feel blessed, a bit anxious, but so thrilled to be able to do this and then the bonus of sharing it with Chuck and Melissa. Let the good times roll!!!!
Safe travels and Enjoy! Thank you for all your blogs...love following your adventures!
