Ken and I went to the new Gus's Restaurant at Ephrata to meet Duane White for breakfast. We learned to know Duane and his wife Barb years ago when Ken helped them buy and sell several homes. Sadly, Barb passed away in November after only 3 months of being diagnosed with cancer. Duane just retired and is considering getting into RVing and just wanted to "brain storm" with us. We had a very nice time of fellowship!
From there we each drove a car to the automatic car wash, returning to our home around 10:30. Then the work began. We continued packing, Ken doing some work at his desk, and then he started loading the CRV. I spent my time dusting and scouring the apartment. Cindy and John stopped by at 12:30 and since we didn't have hardly any food in the house, we went out to lunch. That way we could chat and "catch up" since we haven't seen each other since the end of February. It was so good to see them.
From there we went to Polly's house to get our bikes and load them on our new bike rack. It took a little time to understand how the bikes went on the best way, but we will definitely like this rack! We said our good-byes to Polly and went back home. I finished cleaning and Ken did the vacuuming. After washing the floors, we were done!
I did some work on this blog, and then we went for a short walk. Today was a beautiful spring day with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures in the low 70's - gorgeous! I talked to Nancy Savage, fellow campers who full-time, and they are having the same trouble we are having with one of their slides. (The motor and design is the very same company as ours and we have different motorhome manufacturers!) What is going on????? There is comfort knowing that it isn't just our problem, but I didn't like hearing that they are going through the same thing. They will soon be returning from being a "Florida snowbird".
We had some Easter leftovers for dinner, cleaned up, and got everything out of the refrigerator so we could defrost it and keep it unplugged while we are gone. By now we are both tired but so excited to begin our next adventure! We plan to leave here around 3:30 tomorrow morning so we can be around DC before rush hour. Then we will stop at our favorite Denny's near Richmond for breakfast. By then the sun will be up and we will be "rejuvenated" for the rest of the day's driving! We are so blessed!
