The windshield wiper got in the way, but love the sign! |
It rained a lot of the drive to the Escapees Park, Rainbow Plantation, located in Springdale AL. (Another state to add to our map!) This CG is very nice with grassy, level sites and large trees on each site. The office folks were very welcoming, which was a good thing! When we disconnected the CRV, the battery was dead. We know we hooked it properly, so we will call the RV place in PA where they did the towing package to see what could be wrong. The manager in the office was very happy to "jump" it for us.
After setting up (the rain had stopped for a short time), we ate lunch and then decided to go to a local Strawberry Festival we had passed on our way to the CG. Enjoyed checking out the crafters, but didn't stay long because it really started to rain. Stopped at Wal-Mart on our way back. Enjoyed watching some of the Master's when we returned to Waldo.
Lots of amusement rides were brought in for the weekend! |
They had lots of food at this festival in Loxley, AL. Lots of food vendors but we resisted temptation!!! |
Lots of people eating while listening to the country music! |
This group did a great job and we were amazed how many people were there considering the rainy weather! |
Ken grilled Salmon and Filet under the canopy while I finished our salads and sauteed fresh green beans. Cleaned up together and then worked on our computers while watching some TV. It was really pouring all evening, even when Ken was grilling under the awning! Hopefully it will be a better weather day tomorrow when we want to go to Gulf Shores. Even not, we will be going anyway!!!!
what about NJ....see comments on April 10th blog :)

Reading your blog is making me reminisce of our travels in 2008 - called our "Six Week Tour"! We also stayed at this park and really enjoyed how friendly the staff was!
