Chuck and Melissa, the Happy Full-Timers! |
We really enjoyed our time together! |
And away they go on another adventure! Certainly hope we met up again! |
We left and drove about 20 minutes to Hawk Mountain Bird Sanctuary! What a beautiful area with fantastic vista views! We hiked the North Lookout Trail, alittle over a mile, and had many nice lookout sites along the way. There was a slight shower during our hike, but no problem. So glad we decided to risk the hike today (It was Fred's plan) because it could be very muddy if we have the heavy rains!
After hiking, we walked through the Native Plant Gardens and enjoyed seeing the flowers that were in bloom. Only got back to the CG at 3:30 for lunch. Drove just a short distance from the CG to Pinnacle Winery and did some tasting. Then on to Deitrichs Market to check out their "varied" selection of meats and preserves. They had buffalo meat, rabbit, brains, pig snouts, pig ears, chicken feet, etc. Who eats this stuff? I think some of the pig "stuff" might have been for dogs. I hope so!!!
Mountain Laurel, Pennsylvania's state flower! |
Wild honeysuckle - so pretty! Like the colors and the shape of the leaves. |
Ken and I both love seeing water lilies |
An interesting colored frog! |
I think and hope these are doggie treats! |
Pickled Pig Snouts and Pigs Feet! No Thank You! |
We had heavy rains when we returned from the winery - no chance for having a campfire tonight. So, the 6 of us spent the evening in Willie, our 5th wheel. We shared the food we had including hot dogs, salads, shoofly pie, and leftover delicious birthday cake from Costco. Just can't beat those Costco cakes!!! We played 2 games of Cue Me around our table and had such a fun night! We split the wins for the night! Really rained heavily most of the evening, but no matter! We had a great time indoors!
