Day 53 - Here We Come Hurricane, UT and Zion National Park

It was a traveling day, so we were up by 6:30 and the 4 of us were on our way to Hurricane, UT and Zion National Park by 8 AM.  We only had to drive 147 miles to our CG, so it was a nice driving day, being in 3 states before arriving at our destination.

As we were leaving Nevada it was obvious that even though there was very little at the state border, they were able to have several Casinos.  They needed to catch your business before leaving their state!

The casinos really want and need your business!!!

We only drove 26 miles in Arizona, but what a gorgeous drive, especially through the gorge!  As I have said many times on this trip, it was breathtaking. It is hard to convey the deepness of the gorge and the height of the rocks.  It just makes you oh and ah!!!

Back to Arizona and we are excited!

Everything looks so dry and then Bingo, a golf course!

Time to start going through the gorge!

Wow.....

wow, wow.......

my goodness.......

where are we going.......

...it just goes on.....
and on.....

and on!

Then we got into Utah and drove about 25 miles before arriving at Willow Wind CG.  What a beautiful place.  The office is in a recently built log home and all the sites have cement pads and shade trees.  A very nice place.

Another state to add to our camping map!

How would you like to live in these houses on the edge of the
mountain!

Heading down to the Campground!

I did some cleaning inside, but Ken went crazy outside.  He actually washed the windows and most of Waldo, including the tires and the inside of the basement bin doors.  Then he wiped off the bikes and took the CRV to a car wash.  Chuck washed his motorhome and CRV too.  These guys were on a roll.

Around 2:30, Melissa and I left to do some shopping at a nearby Kohl's.  We had a lot of fun and only returned to the CG around 5:30.  The 4 of us sat outside under the shade tree enjoying a bottle of Coconut/Pineapple Margaritas that they had bought at Costco - so good.  We never started dinner until 7:30 and we grilled veggies and had leftover meat.  Ken had made us salads earlier today.  What a guy!

The 4 of us ate together outside and continued chatting when we were finished eating, never coming inside until 9:45.  Felt so good to sit outside, something we have done very little of on this trip, probably because a lot of the time it was either to cool and way to hot.  Tonight was perfect - about 80 and no wind.  Loved it!

Tomorrow we will make our 1st trip into Zion National Park about 35 minutes away from the CG.
