Great 1st Day in Wells, Maine!

Ken and I were up by 7:30 and made our cooked breakfast outside.  Sunny 1st thing this morning, but most of the day was overcast and cool - only in the low 70's when the sun was out.  Kathy and Sam were here by 10 and we got ready to leave the CG and head out on our bikes to ride about 1 1/2 miles to Moody Beach.  Walked along the beach looking for shells and then back on our bikes to ride over the foot bridge and into the center of Ogunquit.

Walking out to Moody Beach!

So, where do we want to go next?????

Riding bike over the little walkway!

Parked our bikes at the police station and walked along the water's edge on the Marginal Way.  What a gorgeous paved walking path along the coastline.  So many beautiful homes, flowers, and beautiful cove areas with huge rocks.  Walked about 1 mile to Perkins Cove, a nice seaside town with many nice shoppes, restaurants, lobster boats, etc.  Sam and Kathy treated us to lunch at Oarweed Restaurant to celebrate Ken's retirement.  What a nice thing for special friends to do for us!  We would highly recommend that restaurant where you eat outside with a phenomenal view of the cove and ocean.  The food was exceptional too!

So many gorgeous flowers along the path!

What a view from the Marginal Way!

Unique rock formations!

Such a small beach with a unique setting for the 2 lifeguards!

Beautifully maintained pathway with views of the rugged
Maine coastline!

Not a bad place to sit and have a great lunch and retirement
celebrations!!!!

Lots of lobster boats in Perkins Cove!

We walked on the path and rode our bikes back to the CG.  It was a cool day, but not rain until some light showers around 7.  Spent time planning our activity schedule for the rest of the week.  So many possibilities of things to see and do in this area.

Tyler, a 24 year old in the trailer behind us, started a fire and invited us to join him.  His parents will be returning on Thursday to the CG.  So, we all had snakes and/or smores.

It was a fun 1st day and so good to share with special friends!
