What a Fantastic Day in Ogunquit Maine

Ken and I took our time getting ready this morning and had a good time talking to our daughter, Jamie.  Sam and Kathy were here by 10 and we discussed our plans for the day.  This was a positively perfect weather day with lots of sunshine, low humidity, and temperatures in the upper 70's.

We left the CG on our bikes around 10:30 and road about 3/4 mile to Wells Beach and walked for quite awhile looking for shells and seaglass.  Not much seaglass found, but I did get some shell pieces that I can use for jewelry making.  We got back on our bikes and rode to downtown Ogunquit and parked them at the police station.  From there we did another walk on the Marginal Way - in the sunshine today instead of the clouds and light rain of earlier this week.  Sam and I took time to make another stone statue on the rocks like we did in Acadia several years ago.  Ken decided to make one of his own!

Looking down at the crowded beach area from the Marginal Way!

This was Ken's "Monument"!

This was ours, but it really was better than it appears!  Ken
took the photo of his much closer than ours, so you can't
get the full effect!!!!

You have to love the rugged New England Coastline!

We arrived in Perkins Cove so that the 3 of them could enjoy a lobster roll for lunch.  I had a large salad since I am not a "fan" of seafood!  The guys enjoyed watching the boats come in with their lobster catches while Kathy and I went in and out of a few shoppes.  We walked back to Ogunquit and then rode our bikes back to the CG, but 1st we had to stop for some ice cream - it just called to us!!!!!

This is where they bought their Lobster Rolls and then
they ate them on a bench overlooking the harbor!

1 1/2 lbs of Lobster with only butter!

This was 1 of many birdhouses on the side of the
harbor master's cottage!

We only got back at 6:00 and did some relaxing and played 3 handed pinochle - Sam is not a card player.  Our neighboring campers, John and Nancy are back for the weekend so we had fun talking with them about our adventures.  At 7:00 we walked up to the Rec Hall to hear Roger Hurricane Wilson, a musician that the CG provided for an evening of entertainment.  What a talented and entertaining musician with great guitar playing skills.  We thoroughly enjoyed his two hour performance.  The CG was selling hot dogs, hamburgs and ice cream for $1.00 each - what a night!!!!!  Ken bought his CD that had many of the songs he sang throughout the evening including "Home Sweet Home in My RV".  It will probably become of theme song!

Sam and Kathy headed back to their hotel around 9:15 after a fun-filled day with plenty of exercise and activity.  Looking forward to traveling to Saco tomorrow to see Ray and Barb, fellow campers we met in Florida.  She is going to take us to some good placed to find seaglass.  Should be another great day!
