Another Day on Ft. Myers Beach!

What a Day!  We stopped by Slim and Barbara Lehart's motorhome this morning to say good-bye.  They were leaving Pine Island today.  We had met them here last year when they were camping next to us and gave us a personal concert. Slim is a known country singer from West VA who used to do a lot of singing at the Jamboree USA.  Brad Paisley credits Slim for giving him his start in country music.  Sometimes his wife, Barbara and him sing together.  They are such great people. While here at the CG, Slim did a benefit concert for children with cancer and raised around $700.00.  What a guy!  Unfortunately we had not yet arrived at the CG so we missed his concert.  

Then we left at 9 in the Campground's Big Red Bus and headed to Ft. Myers Beach.  It was very cloudy and a bit cool when we left, but as soon as we stepped on the beach the sun came out!  It was beautiful.  You just have to be optimistic!  We walked the beach and sat in our beach chairs reading.  It's tough, but someone has to do it.  I'm glad it was us!!!!

Back to the CG by 3:00 and a game of shuffleboard began.  I won both games we played.  Yeah for me!!!!  On the way back we stopped to talk to a couple we met from VA and ended up sitting outside of their motorhome chatting and drinking wine for about 2 hours.  We talked about many of the trips each of us has taken and recommended campgrounds that we both thought were worth trying.  It is so nice to talk to like minded people and sharing your adventures and experiences.

Tonight we each made several phone calls to family and friends.  Jamie had called to say she got three supeonas in the mail for Ken today.  (Our mail is being forwarded to her house)  He is to appear on Feb. 12 for a hearing to verify that TV's were stolen from our RV while stored at Kline's RV.  Originally he had gotten one to appear today for a hearing against 1 of the thieves, but they rescheduled it for next week to include all 3 of the people who stole the TVs. Ken had talked to the policeman who had supeoned him for the case that was scheduled for today, explaining that we are in FL.  He said not to worry about it.  Now we get 3 more.  So, tomorrow we will be calling the policeman again to be certain we do not have to return to PA.  What a mess!!!

Bus driver, Bill, drives a tour bus in Pittsburgh, so
he is well qualified for driving this bus.  He takes it
somewhere almost daily!
