A Day on Sanibel Island

Ken and I left the CG at 9:30 this morning and only returned at 7:30.  It was a long, fun day on Sanibel Island!

After stopping at the info center, we got on our bikes and peddled to Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge.  We had been there last year, but decided to ride the 4 miles around the refuge to check out all the wildlife.  It really is an interesting, nice area.  We saw gorgeous birds (no roseate spoonbills), 4 alligators, fish, and young horseshoe crabs.  We rode a total of 16 miles on Sanibel and then drove to Captiva on the end of the island.  We wanted to eat at RC Otters, an outdoor restaurant that we have eaten at about 4 times before.  Ken really loves their grouper sandwiches.  Then we did some walking on the beach looking for shells.

It was a wonderful day on Sanibel.

Beautiful Mangrove Area!

A fun place to eat!
