A Biking Day!

Ken and I decided to start our walking before breakfast so we could get in some miles before leaving the CG for the day to go on a bike trail about 35 minutes away.  We did about 6000 steps and then made ourselves a great cooked breakfast.

We packed our lunch, loaded all 4 bikes on Chuck and Melissa's CRV and were on our way to the West Orange Bike Trail heading towards Orlando.  What a nice, wide, paved trail.  We followed it for 12 miles going right through the center of Winter Garden, a quaint little village town.  We stopped to eat lunch after we had ridden for 12 miles, turned around and headed back to the car.  We did stop in Winter Garden on the return 12 mile trip for some delicious Hershey's Ice Cream - Imagine that!!!!

The trail actually goes for 22 miles 1 way, but we only went
and total of 24 miles!

The trail was wide and fairly level!

Lots of Spanish moss along the trail!

We biked over this bridge!  Ken had fun balancing his camera
on his bike seat so we could all be in the photo!

This is in downtown Winter Garden!

You bike right through the center of Winter Garden!

Isn't this a pretty "gazebo" in the town square!

We enjoyed the swings in town!

Saw this smaller alligator and turtles along the bike trail!

When we got back to the car, the people parked right beside us (actually we were the only 2 cars still in the parking lot) told us their car had been broken into while they were walking for about 1 hour.  Both ladies purses had been taken.  We felt so badly for them.  Fortunately, they chose not to go into Chuck's car.

We got back to the CG around 5:15 and started and Kubb tournament, a new game for Chuck and Melissa.  Unfortunately the men won all 3 games.  We will "get" them the next time.  We made dinner in our own rigs and then got together for some key lime pie and to play cards.

We stopped at a roadside produce stand where they were
boiling peanuts.  What a way to ruin a perfectly good peanut!

The Kubb ladies in action!

When the men won the 1st game they wanted me to take their
picture with the Queen!  How did I do?????

They made me take another one!!!!!  I liked the 1st one better!!!

What a wonderful, fun day with special friends.
