Before we left Letchworth, Ken, Kathy and I chose to get up early and leave our campsite by 7 to do alittle geocaching. We drove to the spot where we thought we were close to one last night, only to discover after hiking a very downhill trail with huge drop offs on both sides, that we were on the wrong side of the Genesse River for finding our treasure! We didn't have time to drive to the other side, so we started the search on a different cache! Success! This one was much easier than some of the others and we had a fun time!
Our last chance to view and photo the gorge! |
There were some steep downhills when looking for the geocache we never found, but the trail was beautiful! |
Got to this point on the trail - nowhere to go!!!! |
The hidden but FOUND cache!!! |
We were back to the CG and Sam by 9 and on our way to our next destination by 10:45. We only had to drive 47 miles to get to Bristol - how nice!! This CG is very small and on a dead end stony road. The sites are large and the CG is certainly quiet. It really is a rather remote area, but within 10+ miles of many of the things we are excited to do.
After getting set-up, we decided to take a drive into Canandaigua to check out the lake and area. There is a culinary school in town that is fun to see. I remembered that I had bought a camping cookbook in their bookstore when Ken and I were here several years ago and I think that cookbook became a possession of the new owners of Winnie! So, I now have another one! I was excited - it doesn't take much!!!

The lake water was crystal clear and so warm! Hope to kayak here in a few days! |
After some grocery shopping we enjoyed a simple supper, some yard darts of which the men were victorious again, and then 3 games of Dice Sequence with the men winning 2 of 3! What is going on?????? We called it a day around 10:15.
Beautiful pictures. Don't forget to check out Bellhurst!!
