Getting Ready for Our Camping Trip at Sea Pines Near Avalon NJ

Labor Day, Ken and I spent from 11:30 to 5 having a great time with our daughter Lanie and her family.  So good to have time with the family.  After playing with Sam and Katelyn we had a great lunch and time of fellowship.  While the girls rested, the adults got to play several games of the outdoor game, Kubb.  Enjoyed the game, but it was so hot and humid.  Sam played with a small green spider hanging on to a web for probably 1/2 hour.  She was fascinated by it!  Oh, to see things through the eyes of children.

Sisterly Love!

Yesterday, Tuesday , I spent most of the day at the apartment working on jewelry and cleaning.  Ken had breakfast with Gary, a close friend and camping buddy, and then lunch with his former Real Estate associate, Kevin.  We were so excited to get a phone call from some camping friends we haven't seen for a long time, Jean and George.  They live in NC and were camping in the area.  So, at 4:30 they stopped by so we could "catch up on life" and enjoy dinner together at Scooters here in Lititz.  We also took them for a short drive through the park and the downtown area.   Then back home to discuss things we should see when we travel out west.  They had many good ideas and we really enjoyed the evening.  It was a very hot, steamy night with some quick showers, followed by a double rainbow!  Hope to meet up with them in Florida in the fall!

George and Jean.  He grew "quite the mustache since we last
saw him.  Jean threatens to "trim it" while he sleeps!

If you look real closely, you can see a faint 2nd
rainbow!  They were beautiful!

Waldo is just waiting for another trip!

Today, Wednesday was preparation day for our camping trip departure tomorrow. So, I did some loads of wash and we spent time making trips back and forth to Waldo loading up the necessities for our trip.  It is a process!

This afternoon I had my yearly check-up with my urologist.  I had a very small non-invasive cancerous growth  removed from my bladder 3 years ago, and because they can return in about 50% of the cases, they like to keep "checking".  I wasn't concerned about the appt. since I have no symtoms or problems, but unfortunately the Dr. found another small, non-invasive growth that needs to be removed.  That was a surprise and not a good one!  So, I will have to have it removed under anesthesia probably sometime at the end of Sept.  I am thankful these growths are found early, but it is a bit unnerving!   I guess this goes with growing older!

Ken has a routine check-up with his family Dr. tomorrow and we are hoping he has no surprises! We are planning to be on the road following that 11 AM appointment.
