A Cloudy, Catch-up Day!

Ken and I were up at 7 and by 7:30 Ken was on a 1 1/2 hour walk with Ernie.  I left at 8 to play pickleball.  Unfortunately, Ken's heel is still bothering him and walking is a lot less "jarring" than pickleball.  I really enjoyed playing, but still not playing very well.  I need to get more aggressive!

Ken spent about 2 1/2 working on his computer and I was at the CG laundry from 11 to 1.  We left home 2 weeks ago today(I can't believe it!) and this is the 1st time we have done wash!  As you can imagine, there was a lot to do.  The morning was cloudy with a few showers, so the laundry was very busy!  I was very glad when I finished and back to Waldo!  Ken was a helper and I appreciated it!

We made our lunches and were just ready to eat outside on the picnic table when Ernie and Noela arrived.  Good to see them.  So, we had a nice visit and then the 4 of us discussed our planned trip out west.  They have been to many of the places we hope to see, so their input was very helpful.  Then we all went to play shuffleboard.  Ernie and Noela really didn't know the rules and had only played once or twice, but they did so well.  We all look forward to playing again.

At 5 we got on our bikes and rode about 1 1/2 miles to the Bean Cafe, a very interesting place.  It is very "rustic" with totally mismatched tables and chairs outside and a building that looks rough!  We had more time to chat and enjoy a pitcher of beer!  It was getting rather dark when we rode our bikes back to the CG.

This is the outside of the Bean Cafe!

They do have live music sometimes but not tonight!

The Happy Foursome!

This was their "live music" tonight and they even
had a tip bucket!  What is that about?

This was the beautiful skyline on our way back!

By then it was time for dinner - grilled chicken and salads.  Ken and I spent the evening watching TV and I worked on this blog.  We ca hardly believe we have been at this CG over a week and will leave here on Sunday.  Where does the time go???

Today is our granddaughter, Samantha's 6th birthday.  So of course we called and sang Happy Birthday!  Also talked to my mother who just got over the flu.  Masonic Homes, where my mother and father now reside is still under quarantined.  They have so many cases of the flu and a lot of the residents have been very sick.

Tomorrow should be a warm, partly sunny day(78 and no chance of rain) so the 4 of us are planning to take our bikes to Caspersen Beach and ride the bike trail into Venice and back.  Then on to Costco near Sarasota and maybe a late lunch at Sweet Tomato.  Should be lots of fun!!!
