What a tough night for sleeping! Between the heavy rains and extremely strong winds, sleeping was a bit difficult. Then at 3:50 we got a warning on both of our phones that there was a tornado in our area. Our phones said we should seek immediate shelter and mobile homes were not a safe refuge. What does that say for an RV Motorhome????? We didn't know what to do. So we turned on TV and there were warnings at the bottom of the screen until 4:15. It appeared to us that we weren't in the direct path, but who knew???? Fortunately, it missed this area and don't think it hit anywhere close by. Thank heavens!
We were up at 7:15 and Ken met Ernie for another walk at 8. By then the rain had passed, but it was still very windy. I picked up Noela at 8:45 to do some shopping at a nearby Bealls Outlet (my favorite store here in FL) and Hobby Lobby. We had fun and Noela enjoyed her shopping spree. We were back to the CG around noon.
Ken had spent time on the computer doing e-mails and typing up a traveling agenda for our trip out west. He also got some last minute things done for tomorrow's departure. I cleaned, scrubbed, scoured, and swept Waldo in preparation for our new location!
At 2 we met Ernie and Noela at the shuffleboard courts and played 2 games - the men and women each won a game. It was lots of fun but it certainly was windy. We were back to Waldo by 3:30 and Jane and Al from our small church group at home came to visit at 4. We spent about 1 1/2 hours chatting and then took a drive around the CG. Then we went to the "RV Resort" where they are staying that is about 1 mile north of us. It is a beautiful park and we also got to tour their very nice motorhome. From there we drove to Sonny's for pulled pork sandwiches. We had a very nice time together, ending the evening around 8:15. So nice to see friends from back home. We will probably meet up again sometime this winter here in FL.
Got a call from my sister, Cindy. Their CG has free tickets to a Sandy Patty concert tomorrow night at a church in the Ft. Myers Beach area and she said they had extra tickets and we were welcome to go. So, that is what we will probably do tomorrow night after we get settled in our CG in Naples. We plan to leave this CG around 9 tomorrow morning, park our rig and car in a shopping center parking lot across from the church we want to attend at 9:30. It is the same church we went to last Sunday. From there we will head to Naples.
Our 2 weeks here at Harbor Lakes have been delightful and so special. Ernie and Noela have made it an extremely memorable time!
