Today Ken and Barry did their thing while Deb and I went craft shopping. She had never been to a Hobby Lobby and I was happy to introduce her to this great craft store. Deb drove and it was about a 40 minutes drive, but of course, worth every mile! We were looking for scrapbooking paper to make cards using the iris fold technique which Deb learned from a fellow camper. We had fun mixing and matching paper designs and colors. It is like picking fabric for making a quilt.
From there we stopped at a McDonald's and Deb treated me to my 1st Mocha Frappe - I hope I don't get addicted!!! Then we made a stop at Michaels and Joann Fabrics to check out their papers and I needed some picture frames for Waldo. Of course, I didn't mind looking at the beads for my jewelry creations. Deb makes earrings too, so we were on the same mission!
We returned to their CG around 3:15 and told the "boys" we needed their help to unload the van - just kidding!!! Ken and Barry had spent the 5 hours riding bike around a county park where they saw many beautiful "Florida" birds and an alligator. They rode about 12 miles and had a great time. They also spent about 45 minutes sitting outside at McDonalds where Barry had a mocha frappe and Ken a diet soda. They were sitting on the picnic table at Barry and Deb's Airstream when we returned.
Nice biking path in the park! |

Ken and I drove back to Waldo, did some clean-up and started preparing dinner for the 4 of us. I made a large salad with all the trimmings and Ken made "Sex on the Beach" drinks (a request from Deb). Ken does make the best drinks! They arrived at 5:30 and we had grilled salmon, pork, and chicken with quinoa and a tossed salad. We cleaned up and then Deb was excited to see what new games we had to teach them. So we played 2 games of Skip-Bo, a new game for them. Unfortunately, the men won both games. Not sure what happened!!!! Then we had enough time for a game of Toss-up and 2 games of LCR. It was a fun evening. They left at 9:15. Ken did dishes while I worked on this post. This was a fun day!!!!
Skip-Bo is underway! |
