Day Spent on Sanibel Island and Captiva

What a delightful day with special friends.   Neil, Nancy, Melissa, Chuck, Ken and I left the CG at 9:30 and drove about 1 hour to Sanibel Island.  Neil has been having trouble with his back so they decided to drive through the Ding Darling Refuge while Chuck, Melissa, Ken and I rode about 11 1/2 miles around part of Sanibel Island.  What a perfect day for a bike ride - sunny, 70 degrees and very slight breeze!  We stopped to check out the beach and then went to see the lighthouse!

Walking the beach at Sanibel!  It is covered with shells!

Fellow campers from Tennessee, Chuck and Melissa!

Thanks, Melissa for the great photo!

The lighthouse on Sanibel Island!

Then the 6 of us got into Diesel and took the scenic drive to Captiva to eat lunch outside at RC Otters!  Ken and I have lunch there 1x every winter we are in Florida.  Good food and so nice to eat outdoors listening to live music.  Then we walked the beach and everyone was helpful looking for shells for my jewelry creations.  Who would think that 6 folks would be walking the beach searching for broken shells?  I appreciated all the help?  Each shell has the possibility of providing more "food" for Diesel!!!

Our good friends and fellow campers from Lancaster
County, Neil and Nancy!

The happy group after filling our bellies at RC Otters!

Taking the hike back to Diesel by way of the beach!

I appreciated everyones help in searching for pieces of
shells for my jewelry making!

Gorgeous beach at Captiva!

Beautiful sunset on the way back to the campground!

Life is good and we are celebrating life daily!
