We left Naples around 10:30 yesterday, Thursday, and arrived at the CG on Pine Island at 12:15. It was a great, uneventful drive and no trouble backing into our new campsite! Hard to believe, but they put us right beside Nancy and Neil Savage, our friends from PA who are now full-timing! What a bonus to be able to camp side by side for the next week!
They asked us to join them for lunch in their RV and we were so appreciative! By the time we were settled in, they were ready for us to join them and we had a wonderful lunch. Then we had them for supper with the fresh fish Dave Horst had given Ken on Wednesday when we saw them right before leaving the Naples area. Dave had caught the fish the day before. The four of us had a relaxing evening sharing dinner in Willie!
Today, Friday, was a very windy day. It was mild when you were in the sun, but a bit cool in the shade - was around 70. Ken and I got up rather late and after breakfast we headed to the laundromat, grocery store, and car wash for Diesel. Only got back around 1:45 and I spent several hours getting ready to participate in the Craft Show that is here at the CG tomorrow from 9 to 1. Ken cleaned out the back seat of Diesel. Then we took a walk around the CG and got see Coy and Betsy and Paul and Regina. They both arrived today and we had gotten to know them last year while camping here. We were so excited to see them again after a year.
After dinner, the 8 of us went to the clubhouse to hear a musical group and just have fun reconnecting. It was Coy and Betsy's 49th wedding anniversary today, so they played a special song for them to dance to! It is so nice to be back at Pine Island among special friends! The campers in Pine Island are some of the very best we have met during our travels!
