Friday on Pine Island!

Got in too late last night to do a post, so here is what happened yesterday, Friday!  Our friends, Neil and Nancy, who were camping beside us, left to start the journey home yesterday.  We were so sad to see them leave.  I liked being able to go next door to chat throughout the day.  Nancy is also so supportive of my "jewelry habit" and is always such an encourager!  Doesn't seem right to see the empty space.  We value their friendship!

We met Coy, Betsy, and Paul at the local American Legion that is only 1 mile from the CG for their special hamburger lunch on the patio.  What good food at such a bargain price!  While there we saw an alligator in the pond right in the backyard, an egret, blue heron, osprey, anhinga, and then to our surprise 2 bald eagles in a tree right at the pond.  What a day for wildlife!

Love the Florida birds - Egret!

There are 2 bald eagles in this tree near the place
we were eating!

How majestic!

After lunch we headed to Matlacha to check out the little shops and find Valentine Gifts for our granddaughters.  As we walked across the bridge, Ken spotted a manatee in the water.  What a sight!  Spent time in Willie making some jewelry and then headed to the clubhouse to hear the park's musical group, Last Resort with Coy, Betsy, Paul and Regina.  It was a fun evening.  The group really does a great job entertaining the crowd!

Here's the manatee!

What a great setting for this hotel in Matlacha!

Not easy to see, but this is the manatee!

This is someones house in Matlacha!  Wild, huh!!!!

  1. Can't believe you saw all that stuff! Can anyone go to the Legion? We were wondering about that?
