Albuquerque Here We Come!

Ken and I were all ready to leave the CG by 7:45 but we had to wait until 8:00 so we could get Waldo's propane tank filled.  We were leaving the CG by 8:15 and had about 200 miles to drive.

We traveled almost the entire trip on Hwy. 550 which was a very good road when driving a motorhome and towing a car.  The scenery along the way was unique and so changing!

Almost looks like farm country!

Wow, now we are in New Mexico!

.....and the scenery really changes!

The rock formations were amazing!

They were all so different.....

,,,,in color...

,,,and shape!

Oh no!  I think Ken made a wrong turn!!!

We arrived at KOA North near Albuquerque at 1:00 after stopping along the way for gas for Waldo.  It is a very nice KOA and it is only about 8 miles from the Balloon Fiesta Grounds.  It will make our drive to there on Wednesday morning a quick trip.

Another beautiful view from a CG!

It was a beautiful, sunny day and 80 degrees when we arrived.  We set-up quickly and then had lunch.  We drove to the Bernalillo Visitor Center and then to Costco for a few needed items.  It gave us a chance to check out the area.

We were back to the CG by 5 and I talked to Lanie, my mother (she is doing much better), and to my sister.  Cindy and John are now at Jekyll Island in Georgia and they are watching the weather very closely as Hurricane Matthew appears to be heading to the coast of the US.

After dinner, Ken went through flyers to plan some activities for tomorrow.  I downloaded photos and worked on the blog while watching The Voice!

We are planning a relaxed day for tomorrow before we begin the fully packed schedule at the Balloon Fiesta.
