A Fun Day in the Hudson Valley!

Last night the CG wasn't too quiet and it took me a long time to fall asleep. Campers were still having a "high old time" at 12:30 with loud music and some noisy kids.  Ken didn't seem to mind it!!!  So, I slept in this morning and it felt so good!!!!!

It was a beautiful, warm morning so we enjoyed making and eating breakfast outside.  Then we discussed our day's activities while drinking some hot tea. What a life!  Since Ken chose the schedule for yesterday, I got to plan today's activities.  I think it is alittle hard for Ken to just sit back and let me do the planning.  So, we left around 11:30 and drove to New Paltz, a cute little college town with lots of pubs, eateries, and cute shops, many with a "hippie" flair.  They also had a Hudson Valley Sidewalk Chalk Festival in the downtown parking lot.  So many wonderful artists that did amazing drawings. We went there 1st and then checked it out again before we left the area. Many still were not completed.  It continues tomorrow!  We ate lunch at McGillicuddy's Irish Pub and had delicious fajitas.

Great drawing of Andy Griffith and Don Knotts!

They look so real!

These next 3 are drawings of young boys in orphanages in,
I think, Uganda.  A young college student went there and got
involved in raising monies to help them and get them on
the right paths so they could have a better future.  All the
chalk drawings were done from photos

It's hard to tell, but this is a before and after drawing of a
young boy who went to the orphanage.  His facial expression
was so different and "softer" after going to his new surroundings!

This drawing was so detailed and still had more people to
be drawn into the picture.  It was breathtaking!

From there we drove to Rosedale for their 2 day street festival.  So many food and craft vendors and 74 different musicians entertaining throughout the day and night on 5 different stages, and this was just a small town.  Quite impressive.  Some of the musical acts were excellent.  We also had some delicious salty pretzel caramel ice cream.  If you have never had that flavor be sure to give it a try!

A huge crowd at the Rosedale Festival that was on the Main
Street of the town and went on for about 1 mile!

One of the musical groups!  We loved his crystal clear voice!

A Jamaican Group that had a wonderful lady singer and
exceptional musicians.  So energetic and extremely
entertaining!
We only got back to Waldo at 6 and both of us were tired.  Amazingly, we are not overly stiff or sore from our long walk yesterday, but maybe tomorrow we will stay at the CG most of the day and just relax!!!!  Again, it sounds good, but I doubt we can do it!

Ken made us large salads for dinner while I worked on the blog.  After dinner outside, we played some cards, took a short walk around the CG, and then went to listen to the DJ playing music at the pavilion along with some Karaoke! Then more cards outside (no bugs tonight!)

This has been a fun day taking in the local "flair"!!!
