Sadly, Ken and I left Rondout CG in the Hudson Valley of NY around 8:30 this morning to head to the Whiteface Mt./Lake Placid CG in Wilmington NY, about a 4 hour drive! We had such a good time in the Hudson Valley and still had lots of things we would have enjoyed seeing and doing! I guess we will have to go back!!!!
The drive to Lake Placid was beautiful and easy. This KOA CG is exceptional as far as the sites (lots of level pull thru sites with plenty of trees and space between sites) and the cleanliness and appearance. Set-up was easy, but it started to rain just when we finished getting everything in place. After a late lunch, Ken took a short nap and I made a pair of earrings. Then we played some games outside listening to the light rain. It stopped for a short time, so we took a walk around the CG - impressive! More games outside when it started to "drizzle" again. We made supper indoors and then more time outside playing Pinochle. It was my day to win!
We watched America's Got Talent and had a relaxing evening. Jamie and her family, Sue and Dan (her in-laws) and her neighbors, the Stradlings arrived in Lake Placid today also. We will met up with them sometime tomorrow. They only arrived around 6 and we figured they needed some time to settle in. They are all staying in a house on the Main Street of Lake Placid,6 adults and 3 little ones. Dane will have meetings and extra things to do to prepare for the Ironman competition on Sunday. Looking forward to seeing them and being part of all the excitement this week!
