Preparing for Tomorrow's Departure!

Today was a slow down day as far as activity, but we kept busy getting Waldo ready both inside and out for our trip tomorrow to Lake Placid!

I had so much trouble falling asleep last night (saw 1:45 AM) so I only got up at 9 when Jamie called.  After breakfast and chatting with Cliff and Jane when they walked by, Ken and I headed to the laundromat.  Time to do the wash so we would be ready for Lake Placid.  While it was washing, we went about 1 1/2 miles down the road to Kelder's Farm where we picked 2 pints of blueberries, a 1/2 pint of black raspberries, and a quart of green beans.  I also picked a bouquet of flowers and we got some sweet corn.  It is quite an interesting place.  They have 100 acres and you drive out to the different "patches" and can pick wherever they have a sign that the "product" is ready to harvest.  What a concept!  Picking blueberries was a 1st for Ken and I and the fruit was very plentiful.

Driving out to the fields to pick our fruit and veggies!

You're looking at the blueberry patch!

Lots more will be ready in the near future!

The sign telling you what is available for picking today!

Looks great!

I finished the wash while Ken got the corn ready for lunch and froze some of the blueberries.  What a guy!  We decided to have a "grilled" lunch so Ken could pack up the grill this afternoon.  So, we had salmon, pork, salads and delicious corn on the cob.  Then the work continued - Ken packed everything outside while I cleaned and put things away inside.  Amazing how long it takes to do all that!!!!

We played a game of pinochle outside (Ken won) and then had a light dinner. Then it was time to just relax and watch some TV and work on our computers.  Hard to believe that we have been here since last Thursday and tomorrow we are "on the move"!   We have had such a good time here in the Hudson Valley!  We will probably have to come back to do all the things we never had time to do such as bike riding and kayaking!
