A Great Week!

I haven't posted since last Sunday, but it has been a busy, productive week with special times with special friends.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday were spent getting necessary items for our new home and then putting some of them together - not our forte!!!  Actually we did a good job working together.

Thursday there was supposed to be a 4th of July Parade that went right by our apartment.  Everyone in the area said it was a "must see"!  Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and it got cancelled.  We had invited our camping friends, Fred and Doloris and Sam and Kathy to join us for the watching of the parade.  So I made dinner for the six of us and we had a fun time sharing an evening together and they could see our new "abode".  It had been awhile since all of us were together, so we had a lot to talk about.

This is the outside of our new "abode"!

This is the "work area".  Both Ken's office and my
craft area.  May be crowded, but it works!
Friday we had a delightful time at a picnic/pool party at the home of our daughter's in-laws which is an annual event for about 50+ people.  Wonderful food and a chance to see many folks we only meet up with once a year.  From there we went to our special, long time friends, Dan and Jackie Hagy to play cards and watch the Ephrata fireworks at their home in Ephrata.  Dennis and Gail joined us too.  Another delightful time!

Today, Saturday, we went to get Waldo and bring him to our new apartment's parking lot.   I had to pay attention as Ken backed down the parking lot, for there was a telephone wire that had a lot of slack right over the driveway.  We cleared it by about 6"!  Our landlord would allow Waldo to be parked there all the time, but the borough ordinance says no!  Waldo may be there for a night or 2 when we are loading and unloading, but not permanently.  So we found a place for him in a locked, fenced area in Ephrata.  Not as convenient as before, but it works fine!  Then Polly, a friend from Curves took us to breakfast to welcome us to Lititz - she lives about 1 1/2 miles from us.  We had a good time.  Ken and I did some loading for our camping trip when we returned and then went to visit my parents and play cards.

A view of Waldo in the apartment parking lot from our balcony!

After we ate dinner on our balcony, Ken and I took a walk in downtown Lititz.  While we were walking, Doloris called and asked if we wanted to play some cards.  So, they came over and we had a relaxing, fun evening playing cards and the women were victorious.  We did stop long enough to watch 45 minutes of fireworks from our front yard.  They were spectacular.  Sorry, Ephrata, there was no comparison!

By tonight we are finally feeling like we are settled in to our new surroundings.  Now we just need to get into a normal daily routine and pattern.  The last 2 months have been far from normal!!!!!
