Back Home For A Short Time!

On Thursday, Ken and I took Waldo back to his storage home and then did some errands.  That evening we went to the Ephrata Pool to watch Bria and Cali compete with their Swim Team.  I am still amazed at how well these 5 and 7 year olds can swim and the improvement they have made since the practices began in mid May.  It is incredible.  The meet did end early due to a thunderstorm.

Friday I headed to Curves by 6:25 AM (way toooo early) and then joined my "Curvette" friends for breakfast.  I spent the rest of the morning working around the apartment hanging more pictures, doing some cleaning etc.  Ken ran some errands and then we met with our financial adviser after lunch.  Then I went to AC Moore and Michael's while Ken took a trip to Costco.  (We both got to go to our favorite stores!)  Then Ken and I spent time together working in the kitchen getting a meal ready for my sister and her husband who were joining us for dinner.  It was John's 1st time at our apartment.  After dinner we walked to downtown Lititz for 2nd Friday  - a very fun time on the streets and in the shoppes of the area.

Saturday morning, after we took a long walk, Ken went to our storage area to get our bikes and move somethings to Waldo for our upcoming trip starting next Thursday.  I did some more finishing touches to our apartment.  After lunch, Ken took a short nap while I played on my computer.    At 3 we left for Mt. Gretna to meet Kreiders and Frankhousers for a bike ride on the rails trail.  On our way we drove through some of the heaviest rain we have traveled through in a along time.  We had 2 inches in about 30 minutes.  It was crazy.  When we got to the trail, it had stopped raining and we decided to try riding.  We rode about a 1/2 mile when the skies started to look dark and we started to hear thunder in the distance.  So our planned long bike ride only amounted to about 1 mile.  We decided to go the the Blue Bird Inn to eat outside on their deck.  Fred and Doloris Martin joined us.  The 4 couples had not all been together for a long time, so we had so much fun and lots to talk about!  The sangria was good too!

Should we try to ride or will the rain return???

Guess who????

Fred and Doloris Martin.

We have been close friends with
all these couples for years and have enjoyed so many camping
adventures together!  So many wonderful memories!

Today, Sunday, was another great day.  After church we joined 2 couples from our small group for breakfast at a local restaurant.  While there we planned 2 activities for our small group to do together - 1 in August and another in Sept. It was another delicious meal and great time of fellowship.  What a special group!  Then we spent the afternoon playing cards with my parents - always a good time and something they really look forward to!

We only got home at 5:45 and decided to go for another walk to get in our 10,000 steps.  (We are trying to get better with our commitment.)

Maybe this week will be our chance to get back to a more normal routine.  I doubt it, but it sounds good!
