A Rainy Day on Pine Island!

I woke up around 7 with a bad headache.  I think last night's nerves and anxiety of singing were the culprit!  I got up and took some Tylenol in time to prevent a severe migraine.  We were supposed to take the CG bus to Ft. Myers Beach today from 10 to 3, but it was rainy and very cloudy at 9, so Ken went to the office and told them we would not be going!  A very good thing, for throughout the morning and early afternoon we had storms and showers off and on.  Ken went for a walk from 9 to 10:30 and got in his 10,000 steps, but did come back a bit wet!  I only got up at 9:15, but fortunately without a headache!

I talked to Noela today and they are coming to visit us tomorrow from Port Charlotte.  They were supposed to come last Thursday to ride bike on the island, but we had winds up to 25 mph.  So we postponed our visit until tomorrow.  Maybe not a good "switch" because tomorrow will be cooler with wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph.  Who knew????  Can't wait to see them again!

It turned out to be a great day for getting things done around Waldo.  Ken had numerous calls to make and things to do on the computer regarding insurance, checking the internet, etc.  I started housecleaning Waldo, going through all the cupboards and cabinets and getting rid of things not needed.  Ken joined in "the fun".  We even went through our clothes.  We have things in the back of the CRV that we will take to a local reuseit shop here on the island.  We got through every cupboard and closet and it felt so good..  Then Ken vacuumed and I scoured and dusted!  What a day of accomplishments!

By then it was 3:00 and I hadn't really been outside!  So, we took a walk over to Neil and Nancy to give them the calendar I had made them as a gift.  It had a picture of them on every month.  They appreciated it!  We didn't stay long, for they were waiting to talk to someone on line concerning dental insurance. We left there and stopped to talk to Donna and her sister-in law.  We also spent time talking to Andrea and her husband from Pittsburgh. Nice visits!  We invited Pat and Ron to join us for Happy Hour at 5.

We got back to Waldo around 4 and I finished my dusting and scouring.  Pat and Ron were here from 5 to 6:30 and we had a great time chatting - another Canadian couple from Ontario.   We had fun! After they left Ken and I made large salads and sauteed onions, peppers, and leftover meat to go on top.  What a delicious dinner.

We enjoy being with Ron and Pat - fun loving folks!
It was another relaxing evening in Waldo!  We are loving this "laid back time" here in Pine Island and socializing with so many special people.  There is definitely something unique about Pine Island - I think it is the wonderful people who are so friendly and easy to talk to!  We are very glad we  will be coming back the 1st 2 weeks in March.  Looking forward to sharing that time with Chuck and Melissa!

Today we had lots of clouds, off and on showers, and even some thunderstorms. We did have a few short periods of sun, but not much.  They say it got to 72 degrees, but I'm not so sure about that!  We are in for some cool days this weekend!  So excited that Fred and Doloris from back in Lanc Co. PA will be arriving in Venice on Friday.  We will get there on Sunday and are looking forward to showing them are favorite places in that area.  We always love "sharing life with them"!
