Fun Day at Hershey Preserve with Lanie, Samantha and Katelyn!

Ken was up around 7, but I slept in until about 8:15.  So tired from the late night!  We sat outside to eat our light fruit breakfast, after so much eating last night at card club.  The scales said we need to watch our food intake today!

We walked to the entrance of the campground to let them know that Lanie and girls would be arriving around noon to spend the day with us at the CG.  1st they went to visit my parents at Masonic Homes, which is greatly appreciated by my parents.  I worked on my blog and diary while Ken read and took a short nap.

Lanie and girls arrived around noon and after some chatting, we enjoyed lunch outside.  After a quick clean-up, we changed and walked to the pool.  Both girls were tired and asked if we could drive, because they needed too much energy to walk to the pool.  Grandma to the rescue!  I got out the magic energy "pills" (peanut M&M's) and we were off and walking to the pool.  Everyone had a good time swimming.  Samantha could not reach the bottom in the 3'9" area (the shallowest part of the big pool), so it regarded that she do more swimming and her willingness to try new things was great.  Lanie was very impressed with many of her attempts, followed by successes!  Neither of the girls is frightened of water or getting their heads or faces wet, so they were jumping in and out many times throughout the afternoon.  We did stop around 2:45 to have some ice cream.

By 4:15 we were back to Waldo with 2 very tired little girls.  They watched 2 princess movies while Ken, Lanie, and I had some time to just chat!  That as nice, as we don't have that opportunity very often.  While I made corn on the cob and mac and cheese inside, Ken and Lanie got to spend time alone while Ken was building the campfire.  The girls did go outside to collect little sticks for PaPa to start the fire.

We enjoyed eating our dinner (hot dogs made on the fire) outside and after everything was cleaned-up, we made s'mores.  The girls are always excited for that treat and mommy too!  Then we drove over to Cindy and John's campsite since Lanie and the girls had not seen them for a long time.  It was a short visit, for the girls were tired and Lanie was ready to head home.

A discussion about the making of  marshmallows!

I bet with Mommy's help we can do it!

Wow, this is tasty!

This is a great treat!  Can we have more????

Now it is time for just a plan marshmallow and I will lick the
chocolate on my face for extra flavor!!!!

They left around 7:15 and Ken and I discovered that we were tired.  We relaxed just a little, and then walked over to visit with Neil and Nancy and their friends Ruth and Chuck.  We had a nice time and were back to Waldo by 9:30.  It was off to bed to catch up on some needed rest!
